| Saint John is a community of historical firsts. In 1785, we became Canada`s first incorporated city. This was the site of Canada`s first farmer`s market, which still operates today. Inspired by these historic events, we`re continuing our legacy of firsts into the 21st century. In 2006, we became the site of Canada`s first brain surgery using innovative, portable equipment.
